- First work: a few leaves w. minor stains and occas. sl. foxing in blank margin. Second work: final 5 plates sl. waterstained in upper outer corner; final leaf (w. privilege and binder's instructions) cut out from a smaller copy and laid down on recto of final free endpaper. Otherwise both works in fine condition.

= Provenance: Bob Luza. Ad I: Nissen, BBI 339; Hunt I, 344: "(...) These engravings are sharp and very well cut, though the plants are clearly reminiscent of vande Pas." The gardens of Louis XIV (St. Germain au Laye) and William III of Orange (Soestdijk) served as models for the garden plans. Ad II: Nissen, BBI 390; Pritzel 1830; Hunt I, 345: "In the 17th century the northern part of Europe was taking a great interest in orange houses and in the growing of all the different sorts of citrus fruits under glass (...)". The plates depict citrus fruits and greenhouses.
