= Two powers of attorney, the first given by Vicente Hernández(?) in Villa de Oropesa on behalf of Gaspar Rodríguez, signed 22(?) October 1584 by notary(?) Perez, clerk Navarrete and Antonio de Cea in the presence of Hernando Márquez and Bernaldo Nieto; the 2nd signed by Perez and Andres de Estrada. The city of Villa de Oropeza (present-day Cochabamba, Bolivia) was founded in 1571. The second leaf contains an unidentified watermark depicting a pilgrim, probably Italian/ French, 2nd half 16th cent. Cf. Briquet II, 7567-7603.
