= Edizione Vade Mecum series. Cf. Welsh 2166; cf. Bondy, pp.90-100: "A much more serious and eminently successful venture was the publication of the Edizione Vade Mecum by G. Barbèra in Florence. Printed in tiny but very clear type, that collection of eminent literary works has meant for those addicted to Italian literature, that their beloved books could in the full sense of the word "go with them", as the title of the series indicates. All the volumes measure approximately 2 1/2 by 1 7/8 inches and are beautifully bound in leathers of various colours and lavishly and most attractively gilt-stamped on both sides and spine in ever varying designs".
