One large and one oval miniature in colours and gold, ±6x5,5 and 3,5x2,5 cm., on recto of a leaf from a Gospel Book, Southern Europe (Spanish or Italian), late 15th cent./ early 16th century, Latin text in black ink on vellum, littera textualis, ±37,5x27,5 cm. (leaf), ±27x17,5 cm. (text), 18 lines, richly flourished full border on recto, framed.

= The opening of Matthew 9 in which miracles of Christ are detailed. Christ heals the "bleeding woman" and raises the deceased daughter of Jairus. The left margin decoration shows a vase sprouting coloured leaves. In the centre a medaillon style portrait of a Roman (?) soldier is depicted. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXII.
