= Rare probably 1st edition. Luigi Merci (or Luis Mercy or Louis Mercy) (±1695-±1750), English composer of whom only a few works survive. He was a defender of the recorder and worked on improving the recorder with the recorder maker Thomas Stanesby. Cf. Vester p.312, listing Merci's Opus 1 and 2 as works written for the recorder.
