German manuscript on vellum, 11 lvs., w. 20 pages calligraphed text in pen and black ink and 1 full-page (25,5x17 cm.) coat of arms in gouache, gold and silver within gold border, dated February 20th 1740 at the end, signed by Karl VI in pen and ink, orig. red velvet binding with yellow silk ties and large wax-seal of Karl VI kept in engr. gold-coloured metal encasing, folio, kept together in dec. iron slipcase.

= Holy Roman Emperor Karl VI ennobled the civil servant Franz Dominico Buttolo in gratitude for his service and henceforth gave him the predicate Von Werffenstein. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CVIII.
