"(...) der geniale Dekorator, Artus Quellin (1609-1668), der durch seine figürlichen und ornamentalen Bildwerke dem sachlich nüchternen stattlichsten Gemeindegebau dieser Zeit, dem Rathaus von Amsterdam, seit 1648, Seele und Herz verliehen hat.
