During the period 1793-1797, he published this series of extremely fine engravings (...)" (Landwehr, p.37f). Provenance: the collection A.M. van den Broek.

= Shows Van Niftrik's expansion project. It was soon rejected because of the extreme reparcelling of the area it dictated, which, in combination with the thereby necessary extensive expropriation, would be too expensive. Ten years later, Jan Kalff created a new plan, based on the old agricultural allotment, much more practical but much less imaginative. This is a very rare plan, printed in 200 copies for municipal use only, and not sold in trade (Hameleers, Kaarten van Amsterdam 7/3).
AND 2 other large maps of parts of Amsterdam, i.a. "Plan van het Zuidelijk gedeelte der Gemeente Amsterdam" (lithogr. map by A.J. van der Stok Jr., 1873. Frayed; lacks upper left corner).
