Beelaerts van Blokland/ Dumas, De kasteeltekeningen van Abraham Rademaker p.54ff: "Een van de eerste oudheidkundigen die met waar fanatisme en compleetheidsdrang historische gegevens en beeldmateriaal verzamelde en deze op- of natekende, was de Rotterdammer Kornelis van Alkemade (...). Van Alkemade zal omstreeks 1695 zijn begonnen met het verzamelen van afbeeldingen van kastelen, die hij natekende en van historische beschrijvingen voorzag."

- A few vague stains; sl. yellowed.
= Provenance: the collection of J. and C. Ulmann (Lugt 3533).
- Occas. sl. foxed/ trifle frayed; a few leaves w. some traces of silverfish activities.
= Fine early drawings by Johanna Croiset van de Kop (1861-1943), Dutch artist, probably made during her art classes at the Akademie van beeldende kunsten at The Hague. Including 2 remarkable multilayered drawings of a male head and a torso seen from the back. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CI.
- Two sm. black ink stains in centre; yellowed; lacks portion of paper in upper right corner (clumsily repaired).

- Laid down on stiff board, sl. warped. = Possibly Italian.
- Old closed tears in upper and lower margin.
- Partly faded. Verso w. remnants of former mount in margins. Some vague creases.
= On laid paper with an anchor watermark, probably South-Germany/ Austria.
- Cut out and laid down on soiled mount.
AND 18 others, i.a. a design of a candle holder and a series of drawings of rococo ornaments.
- Trifle foxed/ thumbed; sl. frayed. = On paper with unidentified watermark.
- Sl. worn (especially near right eye); some soiling; sl. yellowed; neatly doubled w. thin paper.
- Some foxing/ soiling; some traces of former mounting on verso.
= In the style of Jan van Goyen on fine laid paper w. dubble "C" watermark (Lothringer Kreuz). With unidentified collector's annot. "No.183" in pen and ink on verso (Lugt 4252).
- Slightly foxed; a few sm. stains; margins strengthened on verso.
= With similar sketches on verso. With reference to Bernardo Buontalenti on passepartout.
- Trifle yellowed/ thumbed. = With the collector's mark of W.A. Freund on verso (Lugt 954).
- Parts of drawing (sl.) faded; brittle paper w. surface partly nibbled by silverfish; sl. dustsoiled.
= With part of watermark "Dreiberg im Kreis".
- Laid down on later paper; w. dam. spots/ closed holes, mostly near upper and left edge.
